Hidden Calories in Drinks

Liquid calories add up quickly and do not fill you up.

· 2 min read

Where they come from

Soft drinks, juices, sweetened coffee and alcohol can add several hundred calories a day. A large latte or two glasses of wine each is easily 400 kcal.

Why they matter

Calories from drinks are less satiating than food, so people rarely compensate by eating less.

Smart swaps

Choose water, soda water with citrus, black coffee or tea and smaller portions. Cut alcohol to lower both calories and health risk.
